About this blog........

The day was a quiet day, in the Spring of 1997.  I was doing my daily devotional in the book of Romans.  Confusion seems too calm to explain the frustration I had building up inside me for several months and years.  The level of frustration reached its boiling point this early April in 1997.  All the counseling from Pastors, Ministers, and strong and solid Christians had not provided clear and concise understanding.

Also, I had read many commentaries, different translations, and many books by those "Bible Scholars" without reaching any complete and conflict free understanding.  God, what do you mean by leaving the "sins committed beforehand unpunished..." so that Your justice could be shown? (Romans 3:25-26)  Or, Romans 1:5, call people from among the Gentiles "...to the obedience that comes from faith."  How can it be that my work (actions) does not determine my eternal destiny?  Or, Going to church every time there is an announced gathering cannot my eternal destiny determine?  What are the commands that we hear that we must obey?  What is the value of doing good works, if they do not save me from damnation?  As my frustration reached my fallible limits, I began throwing Bibles, books and the like and yelling at God.

Many, many times I yelled "Why won't you answer me?"  Father, I need to know your truth.  I can't do this anymore!  I quit!

Suddenly, there was a silent stillness in the air never before experienced.  What followed were revelations one after another to the hundreds (maybe thousands) of questions I had raised over the years.  There were so many revealed that I was having serious problem keeping us.  But, the understanding came flowing into me like a never ending storehouse.  There wasn't any audible voice - just this calm overpowering release into me of God's truth.  Perhaps you've had a similar experience and know when the Holy Spirit of God visits with a purpose.

I knew then that God was laughing with great Joy that I finally gave up and let His Holy Spirit share the meaning of His word.  Soon I was exhausted from trying to remember all that was given, when it was made clear to me, that each time I read the word with an open and honest heart seeking His truth the understanding or explanation would come.

Father, Please forgive our sins and empower the Holy Spirit to reveal to us Your truth as we read, consider, and study on Your word.  Thank you for your gift of redemption through Christ Jesus.

The purpose here is simple.  We desire to share with you what our heavenly Father has so generously guided us to learn and understand.  The journey to this point has taken many, many years with occasional doubt, fear and trembling, and willingness to shout "I can't do this......."  As the questions were asked and answer sought, a phenomenal experience occurred.  God does answer prayer through His Holy Spirit that He has given us as the guarantee of our inheritance (Ephesians 1:14).  That is real and personal.

Yes, there were times that in frustration I yelled loudly at God desiring to gain accurate and true  understanding of His Bible.  There were times when it seemed impossible to attain.  There were those times when it seemed a lost cause.  What I did not understand, until the drought was over, was that all along God was preparing me to hear His instruction through the Holy Spirit and the Bible. When the day came that I was provided a barrage of answers to the hundreds or thousands of questions I had asked, the realization of God's preparing me was also clear.  He was joyously laughing at me for wasting so much time in self-righteousness.  When I yielded and said, "I can't do this anymore" He gave me confirmation of His existence and shared His truth.  Thank you Father.

For the next 5 years or so, I continued to read, study, and learn.  Now, I want to share these beautiful blessings of understandings.  Up to now, most of my engagement has been with Adult Sunday School Classes.  These classes each occur either before or after regular scheduled church services. Also, evening Bible classes where we studied Genesis, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, John, Acts, Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, 1&2 Thessalonians, Hebrews, James, 1 & 2 Peter, and  Revelation.  Each  study brings more understanding.

The Chronological Bible has been of great benefit as the revealing of truth continues to confirm the inter-relationship of each of the 66 books of our canonized Bible.  They each relate with the other and form a cohesive whole that is beyond my personal capabilities.

As an outgrowth of these classes, coupled with continued daily bible reading and study, many notes and topical papers have been generated.  These notes and papers will become the references for the Study Guides to be created in association with this blog site.  For each and all these great experiences I am grateful.  God has blessed me abundantly and I am humbled by them and for His presence in my life (John 14:21-23).
